Inertia

When we are dying
But not yet dead
When we are living
But not alive
When we wake up but are not sure
Which is the right side of the bed
Burdened by all these duties
And responsibilities
Its seem hard to get up
And face the world
The bed seems a cocoon
A soft comforting place to be

It got me thinking
Do we need to be sad all the time
Is it becoming our permanent state of mind
Is our sadness a choice
Or more of a habit
Do we go in search of sadness
Or sadness come to us

Whatever may be the answer to that
We may ponder
but that sure is not our remedy
We need to make a change
And forge ahead
Live a little
Laugh a little
Come up for a gasp of air
Even when we feel like drowning

Force a little bit of happiness in your life
Its all about changing the state of mind
Watching the butterfly
Or a flower bloom
For some of us it might be gardening
Or a long long drive
To each his own
Whatever works for us
To pull away from the gloom

Life could be as simple as that
Or as complex as we want it to be
The choice is for us to decide
Coffee or Tea
Or hot chocolate is good for us, maybe
Or wine, whiskey or any other drink it could be
Or water, tap or mineral
We can choose to complicate it further
with the brands

For me it was the school tap water
on a hot summer day
That I drank with my cupped hands after playing with friends
A moment of calm and happiness
That evokes a smile on my face
When I jog on my memory lane
