Poem - What to write

As I lay tonight

Wondering what to write

No inspiration, no romantic feeling

Not even a twinge to bring

Emotions for a heart-felt song

My mind is blank so is the page

Are my creative juices declining with age

This self-doubt at the beginning of the journey

No way reduces the resolve in me

A line, a stanza or a poem I will write everyday

To convey to the world, what I wanna say

Poetry Week

Last week , I was in touch with my creative side, poetry to be precise. It started with a recitation of a poem by W.H. Davies among close friends, then recitating my own poems at one of our senior's farewell party. My schoolmates had a Reunion- Batch of 91- Fatima Devi English High School. Unfortunately I could not attend. My schoolmates posted the Reunion photos on Facebook. My response was poetic - A poem by William Cowper. I composed a poem on a senior's farewell which was widely appreciated by colleagues at work. Life does some full circle. Some of our hidden potential which gets submerged under our various aspirations, sometimes takes a peek from the shadows and then we realise that "Hey! I could do this". I have set a new target for myself. Write something everyday. A full poem, if not then a stanza, but definitely write. Lets see how it turns out.
