An Empty Heart

An empty heart
In a crowded world
A simmering fire
In an island of cold
Standing in rain
To hide the tears
Sitting amongst friends
To hide all this loneliness

This void, its so deep
Can't seem to fill it with my oceans of tears
Drop by drop Tears are falling
Onto a Heart that's aching
Bit by bit I am dying
From all this crying
Should I thank you
For the pain in me
All this pain
That hurts so bad
I wish I never had
If I could  I want to rest
This burden in my chest

Life has so little meaning
Is living just breathing
Trying to cope
When there is no hope

How do I explain all this
When I know you won't understand this
Maybe it is easier to pretend
As if none of this matters
Fake a smile
Than bare my heart to someone
Who feels but refuses to admit it
You are near
But so far from me
If tomorrow I am not there
I hope you miss me
